I am offering group classes, private sessions and pre- and postnatal classes for all ages and levels in the Ealing area as well Hanwell, Acton, Chiswick and Hammersmith.
My classes have derived from a diverse background in dance, pilates and yoga.
When teaching, I like to pass on the experience I have gathered as a professional dancer. Coming from a dance background I enjoy dynamic fluent moves in my own practice which I draw on for my teaching. Both my Pilates and Yoga training inform, affect and feed into each other. Yet I like to clearly differentiate between them unless I choose to mix them.
My style of Hatha yoga has been influenced by various traditions such as Iyengar, Sivananda, Asthanga Vinyasa, Dynamic and Yin/Yang. I now teach a flowing class, but I am responsive to change to support the student's needs. I like to experiment with a variety of themes, sequences and postures to create a mindful but also fun practice.
I place an emphasis on coordination, movement quality, balance, breath awareness as well as stress management and relaxation. I like students to deepen their practice and understanding to improve their physical health as well as mental and spiritual wellbeing.
Hatha Flow Yoga
Movements are connected with the breath keeping the practice flowing and alive.
Each pose flows into the next creating a dynamic, fluent sequence. The class might follow a
theme or is specifically attuned to the needs of the students. The practice comprises limbers,
sun salutations, standing poses, seated poses, inversions and relaxation.
Pilates Yoga Fusion
Combines both Pilates and Yoga techniques to tone, strengthen and revitalise the body as well as to relax the mind.

Here are some of my students comments:
I love Katja's classes. There is no sense of worrying about what other members of the class can do, no egotism or
competitiveness. The focus is always on listening to your own body and doing what is right for you.
Katja also offers advice to all members of the class with great spirit of thoughtfulness and care.
The class challenges in just the right measure. Fantastic

I've been doing yoga on and off since my teens so after almost 20 years I am quite fussy with my teachers!
Luckily for me I have found Katja! I’ve always found Katja to be an intuitive, gentle and inspired teacher
whose classes are varied and challenging week after week. I enjoy the fluid nature of the class,
Katja is able to work with people of many different levels in the same class, her descriptions and
corrections are clear and concise, and she obviously thinks about what she is going to teach us
beforehand which makes each class compelling. Thanks Katja!
I've been attending Katjas Yoga classes since October 2008. I really look forward to them after a stressful week.
Katja is a great teacher and always makes time to help us students individually.
I can highly recommend her classes for both new and experienced Yoga practitioners.
This Working Mum's Survival Tip - Treat yourself to Katja's yoga class! It is a great mix of - the postures you know or can learn fairly quickly but she somehow presents them differently and adds to them every week so we are constantly moving, stretching and breathing. I feel challenged to give everything a go and feel grounded to keep myself going through my week ahead.
I love Katja's class. I can't do all the yoga postures (yet!) but I am always excited to give everything a go and every week I feel a bit more flexible. I even touched my toes last week for the first time in a very long time!
Having not exercised in a long time this 40 something year old body was really getting creaky. Yoga has been just the thing for me. I am so much more flexible, have more energy and feel more centred. Katja's class is great because every week is different and we are moving and stretching the whole time. Can I do everything? No – but I always give it a go and more times than not I am surprised at how I am just a little bit more flexible than the week before. You should try Katja's class!
After more than 20 years of yoga with a number of teachers, I can honestly say that Katja is as good as it gets. Her quiet presence and skilful instruction creates a serene and focused atmosphere which allows the class to flow effortlessly. In this way the class achieves a sense of unity where we all move and breathe as one, with Katja quietly adjusting a foot here, an arm there, so that we each receive her attention when needed and our own individual practice is strengthened and deepened.
Katja's pilates classes are just as uplifting and re-balancing as her yoga classes. Both leave you feeling stronger, calmer and happier. And it still takes me by surprise how much taller I always feel on a Friday, the day after pilates!
Katja is one of those rare instructors whose teaching you feel comes from somewhere beyond the human mind, achieving a dynamic balance between energy and calmness; precision and creativity; grounding and transcendence. I feel very lucky to have found her.

I love coming to Katja's yoga class. I do have yoga classes available through my gym membership but I still prefer to come to Katja's class because of her expert guidance and her compassion for teaching are fantastic. She really ensures that everyone will benefit from the class and provides good personal attention.
Before I discovered Katja's classes, I had practiced yoga on and off for a couple of years, but I had never really committed to it. From the first class onwards, I fell in love with the way Katja teaches and now my weekly yoga class is a really special part of my week. Every week we cover some core movements and postures, which allows you to deepen your practice. I also love that there are unique elements each week, which allows you to experience variety and new challenges. There are always varied levels that allow you to practice at the right level for you in a supportive environment. Katja's classes offer the opportunity to nourish your mind, body and spirit under the thoughtful and inspiring guidance of a wonderful teacher.

I have practised Yoga with Katja for about 5 months now and I must say that I absolutely love the class. Katja has such a calm and positive air about her that permeates through the class and creates the perfect atmosphere to practise yoga. She seems to know our own individual limits and encourages us to test those limits in a calm, confident way. Each week after her class I feel rejuvenated physically, emotionally and spiritually. Thank you Katja.
Katja’s Yoga and Pilates classes are brilliant! She inspires, encourages and challenges me every week. She is a patient, kind and inspirational teacher who constantly brings new ideas and challenges to the class. I leave feeling revitalised with a wonderful sense of well-being.
